Women jumped while making night deposit

December 31, 2010

Via WIS10:

According to a police report, two female employees of Dollar Tree went to the Wachovia Bank on E. Dekalb Street around 10:45 p.m. to make their nightly deposit. The women parked two separate cars in the teller lanes and got out to make the drop.

Things went poorly for them from there.

Lessons emphasized: there is no safety in being unprepared. On the other hand, had these ladies been graduates of the S.I. Close Range Gunfighting courses, they might have left the bad guys feeling unprepared.

Check This Out

OneSource Tactical is now offering airsoft guns that, purely coincidentally I’m sure, outwardly bear a vague resemblance to the guns of a certain Austrian company whose products are very popular in the self defense market. If you use the products of said company, and you want to get into force on force, I’d suggest you buy one while you can. In fact, get two and some spare magazines.

November IDPA Match – Stage 6

November 29, 2010

Here’s a video of Stage 6 at the November 27 IDPA club match at MCRC. When you press the “alarm” button with your strong hand, the “robbers” turn to face you. The course description stipulates that you need to hit the button with your strong hand. To ensure a smooth draw, I used my left hand to sweep my cover garment away while my right hand moved forward towards the button.  The last “robber” is off camera in the far left corner of the bay, mostly hidden behind a dummy. I decided I could see enough of the head to make the shot by merely leaning to the left rather than stepping to the left, but ended up firing a third round as insurance because I didn’t like my sight picture at the moment the second shot broke.
