Good News

November 2, 2009

According to SLED’s chief information officer, as quoted by The State:

In South Carolina, nearly 100,000 people hold concealed weapons permits, Flondarina said. That includes people who have received them this year as well as people who have held them for years.

If they all lived in one place, the people who can legally carry a concealed weapon in South Carolina would comprise the state’s third-largest city, behind Charleston and Columbia.

And it would be the safest city in the state.

Everyone who has even considered carrying a gun for self defense needs to read this book: Lessons From Armed America. It is even better than In The Gravest Extreme because it was published in early October and is therefore very up-to-date. Kathy Jackson, one of the authors, runs The Cornered Cat, is an instructor at the Firearms Academy of Seattle, and is the editor of Concealed Carry Magazine. Buy one for yourself, one to give away, and request that your library add one to their collection.

Update: Kathy Jackson will be the guest host on Gun Nuts Radio at 9 pm on Tuesday, November 3.
