On Tuesday, Letitia Cason applied for a restraining order against her estranged husband.
By Wednesday morning, she was dead in an apartment off Percival Road.

At 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Charlie Cason allegedly broke into his wife’s apartment on Smallwood Road, which is off Percival Road in Richland County, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said. Letitia Cason fled her apartment and ran to a neighbor for help.
Cason chased his wife to the neighbor’s apartment and forced his way inside. There, he allegedly fired multiple shots at his wife and bullets hit her in the upper body, the sheriff’s report said.
She was taken to Palmetto Health Richland, where she died of multiple gunshot wounds, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said.
Letitia Cason, 38, had two teenage children, and at least one of them witnessed the shooting, police reports said.
