Epic robbery FAIL in Rotterdam

Around 11 PM, a masked man waving a handgun enters a bar in Rotterdam. Rotterdam is large harbor in The Netherlands. The patrons just raise their eyebrow, shrug their shoulders, and resume talking, drinking beer and generally having a good time. The barman refuses the would-be robber’s demands, and tells him to get out of his bar. As the robber turns and leaves, all of the bar’s male regulars chase him outside. One of them is a marathon runner. They chase the would-be robber, who is still armed, for about 2 kilometers before catching up with him and holding him for police.

To quote the bartender: “Let this be a lesson for the next moron to try this.”

My grandfather was “A Real Rotterdam Citizen”. Knowing him, this story does not surprise me.
