Illinois carry permit applications

Last year, Illinois lawmakers finally decided to provide a way for ordinary citizens to carry concealed handguns for protection. The Quincy Journal reports that 22,000 applications were filed within the first 2 weeks. Of course, South Carolina permits are still not honored in Illinois, and most likely will never be honored. However, Illinois does allow for non-resident permit applications, so if you have reason to spend time in Illinois on a regular basis that is something to consider.
