Rhode Island Campus Police
Check this article out. Apparently, Rhode Island Campus Police responded to reports of an active shooter event armed only with pepper spray and batons. Good God!
This perfectly illustrates the point that YOU need to be prepared to defend yourself. Relying on others to do it for you is foolish.

Profiling
I came across this post on WarriorTalk: A Question For Our President
It turns out that the blog featuring these thugs is using Facebook to connect the dots between thugs in Charleston, SC and surrounding areas. Go ahead and read a few pages to see who are out there roaming the streets of South Carolina.
Another gun control success story – not
In 1997, the Dunblane school massacre was used as an excuse to ban private ownership of handguns in England. And yet, it has now come to my attention that one English criminal is accused of ambushing and murdering two (unarmed) police officers using a Glock and a fragmentation grenade.
So… let’s see. We have police officers who are wearing body armor, but are only armed with Tasers going up against fugitives from justice who are armed with handguns and fragmentation grenades. Meanwhile, English subjects don’t have handguns, and violent crime is continuing to trend upwards.
How’s that gun control working out for you, England?
Good quote
A good quote from this thread on WarriorTalk.
Guns are only a symbol of the true divide – individual freedom and independence.
Guns symbolize a distrust of big government and the nanny-state. Gun owners generally, stereo-typically if you will, see themselves as independent, free men (and women) who choose their own course through life. Choosing to own firearms, whether to hunt (providing food) or for protection purposes (from crime or tyranny) is an intellectual extension of that choice – their independence.
The gun-grabbers on the other hand, see guns as a symbol of rejection of that which they believe is right and true. On an intellectual level, removing firearms from society, except for those in the hands of “the State”, is a means of ensuring compliance with their ideology. However, there is a deeply emotional level too for them, since a rejection of their ideology is perceived as a rejection of them individually and collectively.
Gun-Free does not equal Violence-Free
LawDog weighs in on the fallacy of gun control:
And when it comes down to brass tacks, the individual is the only person ultimately responsible for his — or her — own safety. Part of that responsibility involves being able to defend your own self, with appropriate tools.
Gun control is denying you those tools in exchange for the nebulous assurance that the police will “do their best”.
“Doing their best” oft involves putting a toe-tag on your corpse and finding the guy that killed you so that he can plea bargain his way out of an extended sentence, but that’s gun control for you.
