I meant to write a post listing the reasons people support gun control, but I see that SI Staff Instructor Roger Phillips has already done it. Here is his post, reproduced in full with his permission:

I know some people are going to disagree with the tone of this article. Many people on the same side of the gun control issue as me are going to say that resorting to name calling is not the way to go. But when you look at how effective the same tactic has been used against the pro-gun supporters, it raises question about how efficient and effective our strategy and tactics have actually been. Pro-gun people have successfully been demonized by the anti-gun crowd and that crowd can be divided up into three groups, The Evil, The Ignorant, and The Delusional.

NY gun control
As usual, I’m very thankful to be living in South Carolina. Cuomo’s speech reminds me of another historical figure who was fond of gun control.
“No-one hunts with an assault rifle!”
Actually, some people DO hunt with “assault rifles”, but that’s besides the point. Hunting is not what the right to keep and bear arms is about.
“No-one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer!”
Stop it with the hunting stuff, already. Harvesting deer is not my primary reason for owning rifles.
“End the madness now.”
Indeed! Allowing CWP holders to carry on school grounds would be a good start.
“This is New York, the progressive capital! You show them how we lead!”
Good luck with that. I’m sure he’ll give up his taxpayer-funded personal security detail any minute now.
The truth about assault weapons
Very informative.
Once you’re armed with the facts, be sure to contact your Congress Weasel to tell him or her that “Hell No” is the correct answer to the gun control bill that was introduced today.
