Detroit police chief: Legal gun owners can deter crime

From The Detroit News:

There’s a number of CPL (concealed pistol license) holders running around the city of Detroit. I think it acts as a deterrent. Good Americans with CPLs translates into crime reduction. I learned that real quick in the state of Maine.

For the Police Chief of Detroit to say this is nothing short of amazing. Of course, much of Detroit now looks like this, so I guess he really needs all the help he can get:

For the highest-priority crimes, Detroit police take about 58 minutes, on average, to answer 911 calls.

Apparently, people are calling their friends instead of calling 911.
